I'm a native Oklahoman. My undergraduate degree is from Caltech, where I majored in chemistry and graduated with honor. My law degree is from the University of Colorado. I was on the law review and an Order of the Coif graduate.

I was licensed to practice law in Oklahoma in 1978. The Patent & Trademark Office registered me to practice the same year.

I started my legal career at the Dunlap & Codding firm in Oklahoma City. Jerry Dunlap was one of one of the best patent lawyers in the southwest. I had the good fortune to learn at his side, prosecuting patent applications and trying cases. I eventually became a partner in his firm.

I launched my own law practice in 1992. With technology, I've been able to continue providing the individualized service that clients expect. It's also kept my overhead low.

Most clients want me to handle their cases personally. For that reason, I usually work independently. But I've teamed up many times with other lawyers and firms, often in a consulting role.

Since 2005, I've been of counsel to the Tomlinson McKinstry law firm in Oklahoma City.
